Our Artistic Director, and protégé of the great man, Jack Colvin, recognized worldwide for his keen understanding and teaching of the Michael Chekhov technique, gave the Michael Chekhov Studio the inspired and unique gift of the technique in its most evolved, most refined state; the culmination, as it were, of Michael Chekhov’s teachings as Mr. Chekhov himself came to teach it, tempered and informed by some 50 years of its daily artistic application.

Our raison d’etre, so to speak, our purpose, is to carry on in this fashion; to strive to apply Mr. Chekhov’s techniques with the kind of will and integrity he applied them with to such extraordinary effect and artistry. And we do this for the most immediate and fulfilling of reasons - the results: practical, tangible and undeniable, tried and true, continually challenging and rewarding: their only limits one’s own imagination. Michael Chekhov's teachings not only inspire and enlighten, they make assailable the heights and depths of not only artistic expression, but Human expression.

And we believe this should be perpetuated.
